Description sidpranjale127 2024-01-29 17:24:20 UTC
SUMMARY
When you use rectangular selection mode on Plasma 6.0 RC1, the selected area does not "light up" after the initial "dimming" for the selection UI. The captured selection has the colors of the "dimmed" preview instead of the actual colors.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Be on Plasma 6.0 RC1
2. Take a rectangular selected screenshot

OBSERVED RESULT
The colors of the screenshot are different from that on the screen otherwise

EXPECTED RESULT
The colors of the screenshot are the same as that on the screen otherwise

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux, Kernel 6.8.0-rc2
KDE Plasma Version: 5.92.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.248.0
Qt Version: 6.7.0
Comment 1 Doug 2024-01-30 06:21:00 UTC
Can confirm. Neon Testing, Plasma 5.92.90, Frameworks 5.249.0, Qt 6.6.1
Comment 2 Nate Graham 2024-01-30 21:42:33 UTC
Are any special conditions required to reproduce this? I'm unable to. Intel HD620 iGPU, single screen, no HDR, Qt 6.6.0
Comment 3 sidpranjale127 2024-01-30 23:06:12 UTC
no special conditions as such, though I *am* using Arch's kde-unstable repo with the testing repos enabled, and know at least 2 other people who have the same issue.

Now I'm not having this problem anymore. AMD graphics, dual screens, no HDR, Qt 6.6.1.

Since Doug says this is no longer an issue, is this still a problem for the original reporter or anyone else? I don't recall ever seeing this issue, although that doesn't mean I didn't.

Can confirm, this is no longer happening on Spectacle 24.01.95. Closing this issue with this comment
