Switch to the Breeze Widget Style in the digiKam settings under Miscellaneous->Appearance. In digiKam-8.3.0 this is set by default. Maik

Created attachment 165311 [details] reswitched to Breeze Dark and voilà ... Reswitching did the trick, strange but nice, at least ;) Thanks four your support.
You also need to choose a dark color theme in digiKam. Maik
After resetting the appearance from 'Breeze Dark' to 'Breeze' (restart) and then switching back to 'Breeze Dark' the application seems to have overwritten the setting to the correct values. Now everything's looks as expected (3rd screenshot). Thanks to Gilles Caulier for proving the screenshot.
