Description lc 2024-01-25 11:04:37 UTC
SUMMARY
There has been an issue since one day I upgraded the package and kernel using the "sudo apt upgrade" command. I'm glad I can adjust the performance slider after the upgrade, but the display brightness and performance sliders in the battery menu will immediately return to the unpicked state after adjusting it with the mouse, and the brightness is incorrect. Use the shortcut keys to adjust the brightness, the brightness slider in the status bar does not respond. The performance slider doesn't seem to be successfully adjusted after adjustment, but in fact the slider is on the adjusted options after restarting.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
There is no need to reproduce, the normal use of the computer has always existed.

OBSERVED RESULT
After adjusting with the mouse, the display brightness and performance sliders in the battery menu immediately return to the unselected state, and the brightness is incorrect. Use the shortcut keys to adjust the brightness, the brightness slider in the status bar is not responsive. The performance slider doesn't seem to be adjusted successfully after the adjustment, but the slider is actually on the adjusted option after the restart.

EXPECTED RESULT
Because the problem requires no special action, it has always existed.

This unfortunately caused by an issue with the firmware of the machine itself provided by the vendor. See the discussion in https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/upower/power-profiles-daemon/-/issues/106.
