Thanks for providing some information about Kate not behaving as you expected. As a bug triager, I have tried to replicate the problem. When I use the menus to select "File->Open Folder" the user-interface behaves as it should, even with a very long tree of potential folders to scroll up and down along to open. Do you instead mean clicking on the "Documents" icon on the left, and opening a list of documents results in some unexpected behaviour? I am unsure what you mean by "unfold folder" and then what you mean between "jumping between folder and selected file". Further clarification may be very helpful. Thank you!
