Created attachment 164963 [details] Dr Konqi backtrace from crashed kmail-account-wizard SUMMARY When I attempt to add an IMAP acount in kmail, the account wizard crashes when modifying the "Add incoming server" field on the Personal Settings page. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open "Configure kmail" from the Settings menu. 2. Under "Accounts" select the Receiving tab and then the "Add Mail Account" from the "Add" button's pull-down. 3. Fill out the "Provide personal data" and "Secure communications" screens to get to the Select Account Type screen. 4. Select "Generic IMAP Email Server" to get to the Personal Settings screen. 5. Make any edit to the "Incoming server" text field. This will cause the wizard to crash. OBSERVED RESULT Dr. Konqi reports a segmentation fault; see attached trace. I rebuilt kmail and kmail-account-settings with DEBUG enabled; hope it's useful. EXPECTED RESULT Creation of a new IMAP account in kmail. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS FreeBSD 14.0-RELEASE Windows: macOS: KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.10 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.113.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION If you would like me to rebuild other packages WITH_DEBUG enabled, let me know.
I can confirm this for KMail 5.240.95 rc2 on Fedora 40. Configuring the account appears to work fine, but when 'create account' is clicked nothing happens. On a second try the dialog disappeared without creating the account. Manual configuration does not fix it. Importing accounts from Thunderbird also does not work.
I can't reproduce it. Please reopen if you still have problem with new version
