Description S 2024-01-11 13:42:06 UTC
SUMMARY
***
When an application is using the microphone, clicking the system tray applet to mute/unmute the microphone shows correct status, while popup in the center of the screen shows the exact opposite new microphone status.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start using the microphone through an application (Definite examples are attending meetings with Firefox flatpak and recording voice messages with Telegram flatpak)
2. Click the system tray microphone applet

OBSERVED RESULT
The state of the microphone changes. Accurate info on its current status is displayed in the system tray. The exact opposite info and icon is show in the middle of the screen.

EXPECTED RESULT
The state of the microphone changes. Accurate information on its new status is reflected in the applet and on the popup.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.10
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.113.0
Qt Version: 5.15.12
Kernel Version: 6.6.10-arch1-1 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If displaying information this way is currently intentional, I believe it should be changed because it is generally confusing and does not align well with the behavior of other popups (Volume, Keyboard layout).

The isssue does not seem to appear in a Plasma 6 Beta 2 Wayland KDE Neon unstable VM. Should I mark this as resolved?

Ah, this. It has been fixed in Plasma 6.
