SUMMARY


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open settings -> Display and monitors -> Display configuration -> Built-in-screen
2. Chose any resolution but original
3. The screen goes black

OBSERVED RESULT
The screen goes black and shows nothing

EXPECTED RESULT
The screen shows the selected resolution

Unable to reproduce on my system, e.g.

Running at 1920x1200 resolution.
Open Discover.
Go into settings/display configuration.
Change to 1680x1050 resolution.
Switch back to Discover application <- screen not black, simply resized, icons for apps visible as before.

My system:
Fedora 39 X11 session.
KDE Plasma Version 5.27.10 (same as for your test).

Also cannot reproduce. What does Discover have to do with this?
