An example of what Discover might look like with any package. Chrome, Firefox, Linux headers, you name it.

SUMMARY
***
About a month ago, Discover started listing all non-flatpak/snap updates under one umbrella "package" called "System upgrade." No matter the packages found therein, be they core libraries or simple browsers, they would be placed here. I can update all of these packages *without* providing a password, whereas before (and with nala) it prompts me for sudo. After installing these updates, the update screen in Discover changes to one asking me to "reboot my system," and I cannot perform any more updates until I've done so (be they packages, flatpaks, etc).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Discover
2. Go to "updates" when there are package updates available

OBSERVED RESULT
There is a single "System upgrade" package that contains any and all available updates to any and all packages in my system. Selecting it to be updated does so without a password, then locks my Discover updates section until I've restarted my system.

EXPECTED RESULT
All packages are labeled individually, and can be *updated* individually. Updating any of said packages prompts me for a password. When the update is complete, Discover continues with business as usual.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 22.04.3 LTS
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.7
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.92.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I've been told I'm running an unsupported Plasma version by Nate Graham (which is unfortunate, as I thought this was an LTS release of Kubuntu - Fedora, here I come!), so I'm aware this may be a bug that won't get "fixed," per se. However, I'm hoping this is a mistake on *my* part, and that I can be redirected to a resource that will tell me how to get my Plasma Discover back in working order.

Thank you for the bug report!

However Plasma 5.24.7 is no longer eligible for support or maintenance from KDE; supported versions are 5.27, and 5.27 or newer. Please upgrade to a supported version as soon as your distribution makes it available to you. Plasma is a fast-moving project, and bugs in one version are often fixed in the next one.

If you need support for Plasma 5.24.7, please contact your distribution, who bears the responsibility of providing support for older releases that are no longer supported by KDE.

If you can reproduce the issue after upgrading to a supported version, feel free to re-open this bug report.

In System Settings => Software Updates, do you have "Use offline updates" selected? If so, does un-selecting it give the behaviour you want?

Oops... turns out this is the expected behavior for "offline updates," which is a setting I forgot I had turned on... sorry for the confusion, y'all!
