Description Ilya Bizyaev 2024-01-02 23:13:58 UTC
SUMMARY
When I enter the column configuration dialog in System Monitor's process table, I struggle to find the information that I need:
• The list of columns is long and in seemingly random order
• No filter-like search feature
• The names of the columns are not the same as in the process table
• Enabled and disabled columns look the same and are mixed

EXPECTED RESULT
Some ideas:
• Add a filter
• Sort the columns alphabetically by their name
• Group the columns in sections by their meaning (e.g. “CPU”, “IO”, “Process”)
• Display disabled columns in gray or italic

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20231226
KDE Plasma Version: 5.91.90
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.248.0
Qt Version: 6.6.1
Graphics Platform: Wayland

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Nate Graham 2024-01-11 22:26:57 UTC
The list is sorted by the order in which the columns appear; that's why they have "drag me" handles on the left side.

I agree about everything else, though.
