SUMMARY *** The main Kdenlive window is huge and so are all the icons and fonts to the extent that the app is unusable. On a HP Probook G8 with 1920x1080 display, the kdenlive window seems about twice as tall as the display and it cannot be made smaller in the vertical direction. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install kdenlive 23.08.4 on Xubuntu (doesn't matter if you use the flatpak or the kdenlive ubuntu PPA) 2. launch Ubuntu 3. observe the ridiculously huge font, window and icons that make kdenlive unusable OBSERVED RESULT too huge EXPECTED RESULT reasonable size NOTE Kdenlive 21.12.3 is scaled correctly SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS inxi -F System: Host: placka Kernel: 5.15.0-91-generic x86_64 bits: 64 Desktop: Xfce 4.16.0 Distro: Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish) Machine: Type: Laptop System: HP product: HP ProBook 455 G8 Notebook PC v: N/A serial: <superuser required> Mobo: HP model: 8864 v: KBC Version 41.23.00 serial: <superuser required> UEFI: HP v: T78 Ver. 01.08.00 date: 12/24/2021 Battery: ID-1: BAT0 charge: 36.9 Wh (98.9%) condition: 37.3/45.0 Wh (82.9%) CPU: Info: 6-core model: AMD Ryzen 5 5600U with Radeon Graphics bits: 64 type: MT MCP cache: L2: 3 MiB Speed (MHz): avg: 1403 min/max: 1600/2300 cores: 1: 1387 2: 1395 3: 1374 4: 1329 5: 1398 6: 1392 7: 1482 8: 1397 9: 1397 10: 1394 11: 1397 12: 1496 Graphics: Device-1: AMD Cezanne driver: amdgpu v: kernel Device-2: Chicony HP HD Camera type: USB driver: uvcvideo Display: x11 server: X.Org v: 1.21.1.4 driver: X: loaded: amdgpu, ati unloaded: fbdev, modesetting, vesa gpu: amdgpu resolution: 1920x1080~60Hz OpenGL: renderer: RENOIR (renoir LLVM 15.0.7 DRM 3.42 5.15.0-91-generic) v: 4.6 Mesa 23.0.4-0ubuntu1~22.04.1 Audio: Device-1: AMD Renoir Radeon High Definition Audio driver: snd_hda_intel Device-2: AMD Raven/Raven2/FireFlight/Renoir Audio Processor driver: N/A Device-3: AMD Family 17h HD Audio driver: snd_hda_intel Sound Server-1: ALSA v: k5.15.0-91-generic running: yes Sound Server-2: PulseAudio v: 15.99.1 running: yes Sound Server-3: PipeWire v: 0.3.48 running: yes Network: Device-1: Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet driver: r8169 IF: enp1s0 state: up speed: 100 Mbps duplex: full mac: c0:18:03:5f:6c:e8 Device-2: Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac PCIe Wireless Network Adapter driver: rtw_8822ce IF: wlp2s0 state: down mac: 38:d5:7a:78:a6:d3 IF-ID-1: virbr0 state: down mac: 52:54:00:27:76:c9 Bluetooth: Device-1: Realtek Bluetooth Radio type: USB driver: btusb Report: hciconfig ID: hci0 rfk-id: 82 state: down bt-service: enabled, running rfk-block: hardware: no software: yes address: 38:D5:7A:78:A6:D4 Drives: Local Storage: total: 476.94 GiB used: 415.18 GiB (87.1%) ID-1: /dev/nvme0n1 vendor: Western Digital model: PC SN530 SDBPNPZ-512G-1006 size: 476.94 GiB Partition: ID-1: / size: 467.89 GiB used: 415.17 GiB (88.7%) fs: ext4 dev: /dev/nvme0n1p2 ID-2: /boot/efi size: 511 MiB used: 6.1 MiB (1.2%) fs: vfat dev: /dev/nvme0n1p1 Swap: ID-1: swap-1 type: file size: 8 GiB used: 9.2 MiB (0.1%) file: /swapfile Sensors: System Temperatures: cpu: 45.0 C mobo: 25.0 C gpu: amdgpu temp: 45.0 C Fan Speeds (RPM): N/A Info: Processes: 371 Uptime: 10d 14h 24m Memory: 22.79 GiB used: 6.88 GiB (30.2%) Shell: Bash inxi: 3.3.13
