Created attachment 164481 [details] This image shows what i mean by "Top of the grid". Drop there and the file will teleport to the bottom. This issue is simple to reproduce; Just put a file on the very top of your desktop. Instead of remaining on the top of the grid, it teleports to the bottom of the grid.
Cannot reproduce. Any chance you can attach a screen recording that shows the issue? Thanks!

Thanks. It's strange, I cannot reproduce the issue.
Updated the system info into the one that I currently have. (Same issue still happens)
x11 or wayland?
Wayland.

I'm able to reproduce the behavior shown in the video on X11 with Solus Plasma and on Plasma with KDE Neon 1. Have a file or folder on the desktop, anywhere. 2. Click the icon near the bottom to drag. 3. Drag the icon with the mouse as far to the top as you can, the cursor will stop at the top of the visible viewport. The top of the icon will be beyond the viewport. 4. Let go of the mouse button. The icon will snap back to where it had been. This seems like it could be intentional behavior to avoid having icons get to a position where the user can't interact with them anymore. I'll defer to the developers to answer that.

It's going to the bottom of the screen, a place where the file/folder never was.
snapping back to where it was dragged from***
Created attachment 171583 [details] Creating folder on the middle of the screen, then doing the issue.
PS: I think that the *nearest possible placement within the grid* is the better solution. It's reasonable to assume that the user was in a hurry and just happened to grab a file/folder by its corner, and dropped it far on top because that way they only need to do horizontal movement, which doesn't require precision if the grid is activated.
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #3) > Thanks. It's strange, I cannot reproduce the issue. Try having another file on a space above another file, then drag both files to the top by holding the lower file. It gets even weirder if you drag them back down, making the top file that now is on the bottom to go up again but in a different location.

(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #3) > Thanks. It's strange, I cannot reproduce the issue. You can't reproduce it likely because your Desktop grid is organized left to right (default setting). In your case you can reproduce it by shoving a file to the left corner, you can use two or more files to make it easier.

(In reply to Fernando M. Muniz from comment #12) > Created attachment 171583 [details] > Creating folder on the middle of the screen, then doing the issue. Can reproduce this like shown on Plasma 6.4.4 Wayland. If the Icon Arrangement setting under "Desktop and Wallpaper" is set to Top to Bottom, dragging and dropping any file or folder to the very top of the desktop will snap it to the bottom, dropping it to the very bottom will snap it to the top. Setting the Icon Arrangement setting to Left to Right will make files/folders snap to the right if dropped to the very left, or to the left if dropped to the very right instead.
