Description jonatan+kde 2023-12-27 14:03:51 UTC
SUMMARY
"Power and Battery" doesn't appear in System Tray when using "Shown when relevant" and the device is discharging

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set "Power and Battery" to "Shown when relevant"
2. Use Laptop without external power

OBSERVED RESULT
Battery icon does not appear in system tray on Plasma 6 Beta 2, even when unplugged from power, which it previously did in Plasma 5.

EXPECTED RESULT
Battery icon appears in system tray, when the battery is discharging.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: NixOS-unstable with kde2nix flake
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.91.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.247.0
Qt Version: 6.6.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Device in question is a Thinkpad T480, which has 2 batteries. 1 internal one and 1 external one, which discharge separately (One is "discharging", the other one "Not charging"). This is picked up correctly in the Power and Battery Popup, but maybe related to it not detecting that the device as a whole is not plugged into power.
