Description postix 2023-12-22 21:24:45 UTC
SUMMARY

This is about editing different network connections.

If the network manager KCM is already opened and you have selected one connection to edit,
clicking on "configure" in the network manager applet for another network only brings SystemSettings' window up to front, but it doesn't select the right network you want to configure.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the nm applet
2. Select any connection -> "configure"
3. Do something else (and forget about that SystemSettings is still opened)
4. Open the nm applet once again
5. Select a different connection -> "configure"

OBSERVED RESULT
Step 2: SystemSettings opens and selects the right network
Step5: SystemSettings regains focus and keeps the network selected from step 2.

This is really bad as it has let me several times to edit the wrong connection and then wondering why things don't work.

EXPECTED RESULT

The right network is always selected. If there are unsaved changes of another connection, a confirmation dialog opens first.
