digiKam-8.2.0-Win64.exe installs fine and checksums are consistent with the one on the website. However when running the program it claims it's 8.1.0 with builddate 2023-07-05. Steps to reproduce download and install in windows, check about. It's not a single mirror having the wrong file.
No, it can't be. Where exactly did you download it from? Otherwise, uninstall first and then install again. The fact that an incorrect version name is displayed in the start menu is fixed, but only with the second installation of the digiKam-8.2.0 installer. Maik
It's not reproducible at all !!! https://i.imgur.com/zhawFcV.png https://i.imgur.com/QkGFZko.png https://i.imgur.com/c7FaC5a.png Gilles Caulier
Created attachment 164364 [details] attachment-2478008-0.html I tried it 4 times. Two upgrades from within the application itself, and two downloads from what appeared to be the main download server. But possibly it got redirected in the background without me noticing? Anyway the checksum on the main website is the same as the one from the file on disk. It's in the about pop-up I can see the build date and old version number. Also update check reports I need to download 8.2.0 even if I just installed 8.2.0. Let me know if I can do some analysis on my computer. I work as a software developer so just give me instructions and I'll do whatever checks you want me to do. (For example problems can arise if the old version doesn't get uninstalled properly due to file locks and new files can't written so a mismatch between version numbers can happen. But the installer should report this and give error code.) I haven't tried the Qt5-version, only the main windows version of 8.2.0.
