SUMMARY I've noticed that all of the suggested `Possible Duplicates` under the bug report are related to other software, The possibility a suggestion applying to multiple software is extremely low and filling it with unrelated reports just defeat the whole purpose of finding possible duplicates. Also, we're filling the OS information on the top, you can remove them from the template. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Choose a software above 2. Type a bug 3. Check the `Possible Duplicates` suggested OBSERVED RESULT Irrelevant suggestions EXPECTED RESULT Suggestions related to the software specified SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Indeed, the duplicate detector isn't amazing. Unfortunately this is not KDE code; it's simply a feature of Bugzilla itself. Short of rewriting it ourselves--which is not really realistic--it needs to be improved upstream by the Bugzilla developers. > Also, we're filling the OS information on the top, you can remove them from the template. This is a separate thing; in general, please submit a new bugzilla ticket for each bug/issue/request etc. However in this case there is no need; the "Version" field on top is only for the software itself; we also need to know the versions of other related things, like the KDE Frameworks version it was built with, the Qt version, the Kernel version, etc. Those pieces of information can't be added to the default metadata fields on top.
