Created attachment 164241 [details] backtrace SUMMARY I added the application menu to my desktop itself (*not* a panel). Removing it crashes plasmashell. Trying to remove any other widget that I've tested (including Kickoff) does not crash plasmashell. For some reason plasmashell seems to crash "harder" than normal. Usually when I've seen a crash the desktop background doesn't disappear and the panel comes back after a couple seconds. In this case, the crash handler appears immediately but the background stays black for 5+ seconds. Backtrace attached. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add a kicker widget to your desktop. Should appear as a large button. Click it to make sure it works. (No issues for me.) 2. Right click the widget and select "remove application menu". Created attachment 164249 [details] backtrce can confirm on Arch linux Beta 1
Can't reproduce on master. Maybe it has already been fixed? It would be great if you could check if this still happens on master. Thanks!
I will test on Arch when beta 2 is released and report back if no one beats me to it on neon
Can confirm, I was able to remove the widget in beta 2.
