Yesterday I tried to run DigiKam from the window's bar, a new window was open and start and update. In fact the app was installed again and seems override all info about my projects.

I possibe to recovery the data? I expended many time tagging many photos :-(

Which operating system did you use ? digiKam run as SNAP or FLATPAK package ?

And no, we don't see this problem before with 8.1.0...

Q : which kind of database did you use exaclty ? sqlite, mysql, NAS ?

Wow thanks for the quick response, I don't know, I've just installed DigiKam in my PC:  Windows 64 Windows 10 Pro. As you can see I am not a techy profile :-S

And which database type did you use ? Go to dgiKam/Configuration/database dialog for details.

The digiKam configuration files and databases are not changed during uninstallation/installation. Are you perhaps using one of these tools to monitor and clean up installations?

DataBase SQlite

yes, i can be better.

Also, i recommend to download DebugView from Microsoft and run in parallel than digiKam to capture debug trace at run time. See instructions here :
