SUMMARY Opening an app with multiple windows then clicking it then trying to middle-click to close a window doesn't work STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have an icons only task manager applet in the panel configured with Clicking group task: “Show large window previews” 2. Open two dolphin windows 3. Click dolphin in the icons only task manager applet 4. Try to middle-click one window to close it. OBSERVED RESULT Doesn't close the window. Middle-clicking does nothing. EXPECTED RESULT Close the middle-clicked window. Clicking on the 'X' in that view works, but in Plasma 5 it used to work with middle-click here too.
Works for me with those settings. Can you attach a screen recording that shows your exact Task Manager settings and depicts you reproducing the bug, so I can make sure I'm testing it correctly? Thanks!

Aha, you're not middle-clicking on a Task Manager icon itself, but rather on the window preview in the Window View effect that happens to get triggered by you activating a grouped task due to manually enabling the setting to do this. Can reproduce now.
Seems to be fixed with Plasma 6.0.1
