Created attachment 163789 [details] The arrow shows the location of the cross If you open a list of all desktops in a single line, you can see how small the crosses are when you hover over the windows. Because of this, it is very difficult to close a window in this mode. I have shown it in more detail on the screenshot. There is no such problem with grid desktops. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create at least 4 desktops. 2. Open any program. 3. Open a list of all desktops. 4. Hover over any window and notice how small the cross to close the window is. OBSERVED RESULT A little cross that's hard to hit EXPECTED RESULT A big cross that's easy enough to hit. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Neon (Unstable), Wayland KDE Plasma Version: 5.90.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.246.0 Qt Version: 6.6.0
I wonder if the close buttons appearing here is even a bug. They're totally too small to manipulate with most desktop arrangements. We should make them bigger or remove them.
I don't think they should be removed because Desktop Grid is the most convenient way to manage desktops in a grid. If you don't know what I mean, remember the last conversation (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477942). The Overview effect cannot replace Desktop Grid in managing desktops in a grid. So I think we just need to increase the crosses.
+1 for making them bigger. The only downside I see is that users might press them by accident while trying to quickly switch between windows, but this shouldn't really be any more of a problem than it currently is in "normal desktop" mode, so it should be fine IMO.
