a video of the bug

NOTE: THE BUG IS WAYLAND-ONLY (or at least with my testing)

SUMMARY
There's a problem with widgets (on wayland at least) where the ones that should open a popup (like the System Tray or Calendar) sometimes... don't work. They show a line to indicate that they are open, while their popups are nowhere to be found. In the attachment i've only tried to open the widgets on the panel, but the same bug exists when those widgets are on the desktop instead. I have a dual monitor setup, the bug exists on both.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add any widget that has a popup (calendar or systray)
2. Click on them a few times

OBSERVED RESULT

Popups from widgets not appearing sometimes

EXPECTED RESULT

The popups should show up every time

Sounds like Bug 455575. What version of the NVIDIA driver are you using? If it's 545, does it help to downgrade to 535?
