SUMMARY *** I am using ibus xkb:us::eng and m17n:ru . While typing english is ok, after switching to m17n:ru still english letters are input. kwrite on the other hand works as expected. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. run kate 2. run ibus 3. switch input to english: ibus engine xkb:us::eng 4. type into kate 5. switch input to transliterated russian: ibus engine m17n:ru2:translit 6. type into kate OBSERVED RESULT The letters are not cyrillic. EXPECTED RESULT The letters shouzld be cyrillic as they are in kwrite. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 39 (available in About System) plasmashell 5.27.9 KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: 5.111.0 Qt Version: 5.15.11 (built against 5.15.10) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Description not quite correct .. sorry. Having ibus running one can type as expected and switching inputs also works. But if I kill ibus, no input is accepted any more. Having switched ibus back on, input is still not accepted. Regardless of input method. (Ibus running idle consumes some CPU that I prefer to save for other tasks, that is why the killing)
Hi, Kate and KWrite use exactly the same code, therefore this seems to be very strange. Does it really work ok for KWrite?
