It will be nice if it would be possible to set up a hierarchy also for Loan accounts I'm using loan account to manage bound accounts. Bound accounts are particular saving accounts that on fixed frequency pay an interest. This is not considered an investment, it's just a particular type of sub account you can open in the bank and bank account fees are calculated by the bank putting together all the money a user has on the same "contract". What's more (in Europe at least) bank account are protected by central banks till a max value, so it's important if you want to be guaranteed by central banks that you don't have "too many money" on the same contract. It's easy to make a report putting together all bank accunts referring to the same contract using hierarchy but it's a problem with loans-
What are you actually asking for? Loan accounts fit into the Accounts hierarchy, and should be grouped with the other Liability Accounts. Separately, why use loan accounts instead of savings accounts? Personally, I would just use savings accounts, and possibly create a schedule for the interest payments. The main problem with loan accounts is that if you create them using the standard New Account Wizard, it also creates a Schedule for the payments, and it is very hard to change any features of the account other than the schedule. I just tried, and did not see any way to create a loan account without creating a schedule. (I'm using master branch - please let us know which version you are using, although I don't think it actually matters in this case.)
I'm using Version 5.1.3-261c598d3 on windows with KDE. I ask exactly for what you stated: Loan accounts has fit into the Accounts hierarchy, and should be grouped with the other Liability Accounts as they were normal sub accounts. The reason I want to use Loan is that this way KDE will calculate the interest installment received and the schedule for them and that's a nice thing (for example there are bound accounts that pays interest every 3 month (4 every year) and last 5 years so there are 20 interest installment received during the life of the bound account). So just configuring a loan account with the needed net interest rate (to consider also taxes paid directly by the bank) and a final paiment equal to the bound initial sum I have exactly what I need ^_^ Using normal saving account (that is what I'm doing now) I have to use Excel ( ç_ç ) to calculate the interest installment received with their schedule date and import them via csv import.

Drag and drop in the accounts and categories view has been implemented in master (see bug #272737). This allows you to move existing loan accounts to be children of another asset/liability account.
