SUMMARY When opening an Audio CD in Dolphin, we are presented with the neat system of folders for automatic ripping (which is superconfusing and bloated for a normal user, who does not expect this imho, but that's another matter). After that, kio (?) keeps accessing and reading the disk, probably due to a CDDB lookup. But: It never stops! I waited 15 minutes and the drive keeps on clacking and reading, as long as Dolphin is open. The problem presented here is: When trying to rip one audio file, it takes hours (due to the constant access on the drive). The CD is absolutely fine! When closing dolphin and using a third party tool to rip (like K3b or Asunder), it works fine and is finished within minutes. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch (Manjaro) Kernel 6.6.2-1 KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.9 Qt Version: 5.15.11
Probably it's fixed on Plasma 6, see bug 400816.
You're probably right. Sorry, I missed 400816.
