It looks like some settings were broken by an update, possibly on the Android phone with the monthly feature system update. I ended up unpairing all laptops from the phone, clearing the cache and data, uninstalling kdeconnect on the phone, and installing back from the Play Store. Once re-installed, pairing the phone to the laptop from scratch and exposing the filesystem on the phone to kdeconnect has allowed normal kdeconnect functionality for file transfer again. So this looks like a problem more likely with kdeconnect on the phone than settings within plasma. If others with the same problem might try the same attempt to fix the issue, then it would be useful to know if this is indeed an issue with the Android kdeconnect app or not.

It would be even better to see the Android logs instead, do you think you can get them? It requires setting the phone in developer mode and using the ADB command line tool: https://developer.android.com/tools/logcat If that's too much trouble, it's okay. Is anyone on here able to try this out?
kdeconnect does make the connection to the phone and the android phone correctly receives a ping from the linked laptop, and the laptop correctly receives a ping initiated on the phone. However the sshfs filesystem connection seems to be broken. If I start dolphin on the laptop and click the phone's 'places' line on the left then the filesystem icon appears on the right, but immediately starts to pop up error messages and the filesystem icon on the right of the dolphin window shows: "The file or folder /run/user/1000/d53b9b48_800f_4278_8829_f0aa09178b6f/storage/emulated/0 does not exist." Equally if I go to a konsole window and type ls /run/user/1000/d53b9b48_800f_4278_8829_f0aa09178b6f/storage/emulated/0/ then it responds with: $ ls /run/user/1000/d53b9b48_800f_4278_8829_f0aa09178b6f/storage/emulated/0/ ls: cannot access '/run/user/1000/d53b9b48_800f_4278_8829_f0aa09178b6f/storage/emulated/0/': No such file or directory So although the android kdeconnect is linked to the laptop kdeconnect, the sshfs filesystem is not opened. sshfs is installed, and checking: $ pacman -Qs sshfs local/sshfs 3.7.3-1 So if there were any changes made in the current version concerning exposing the android filesystem with sshfs, then this looks like where the problem occurs. I have tested this with three different laptops and all exhibit the same issue.
The same issue: /usr/bin/fusermount: entry for /run/user/1000/0d1041b6_5c5e_4e57_ad72_c430738a7ffd not found in /etc/mtab Tried to downgrade the android app to 1.29.0 - nothing changed. There are no any messages in logcat, when trying to connect. I think, KDEConnect does not pass the port to sshfs. When I run it manually, I'm getting the password request: sshfs -p 1739 192.168.2.179:/ /run/user/1000/0d1041b6_5c5e_4e57_ad72_c430738a7ffd/
Same issue here, using Arch Linux and KDE plasma.

I my case it was caused by sshfs 3.7.1+repack-2, that did not recognize the `-o PubkeyAcceptedKeyTypes=+ssh-rsa` option. You can check the error message by replacing the sshfs executable with a shell script.
The "debuild" hint for sshfs from here (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477673#c11) together with an upgrade of kdeconnect app was the solution on my Kubuntu 24.04. You just need to install the > latest version. KDE Neon needs to update sshfs to the latest. The latest installable sshfs package as of now is 3.7.1, which breaks KDEConnect in a major way. I just downloaded and compiled the latest (3.7.3) and overwrote the system's sshfs, and now KDEConnect is working as it should. Compiling a helper app to get the newest version because a system app is broken is not what a normal user should have to do.

The comment above is a current workaround to get kdeconnect to work, and uses a wrapper script file (chmodded as executable) at /usr/local/bin/sshfs with content: #!/usr/bin/env bash SSHFS_BIN="/usr/bin/sshfs" if [[ "$1" =~ ^kdeconnect ]]; then "$SSHFS_BIN" "$@" -o HostKeyAlgorithms=+ssh-rsa -o PubkeyAcceptedKeyTypes=+ssh-rsa else "$SSHFS_BIN" "$@" fi And then unpair any existing connected android device, and re-pair it. With the wrapper script replacing the direct call to sshfs, the key generated for the pairing will be rsa, and this allows the current version of kdeconnect to work with the filesystem on the android phone using the newly created rsa key pair. Any key pairs created with recent versions of sshfs will not work with the current version of kdeconnect unless the sshfs wrapper script is in place to replace the call to sshfs but allowing obsolete ssh key types (rsa). However this is not fully satisfactory, since rsa key use in ssh is now deprecated, and using the up-to-date version of sshfs would normally not allow the use of the rsa key pair. The correct solution would be that kdeconnect works with the newer key types, and is compatible with the allowed keys in use in the most recent version of sshfs (and ssh). This change needs to be put in place with suitable commit for the kdeconnect source. So the real fix would be to make sure that the key type when pairing will be compatible with up to date versions of sshfs, and to have a warning if the ssh key is not permitted by sshfs.
None of these workarounds work for me. After the Plasma 6 (from 5) upgrade, I can't browse the device. I tried the scrips, unpaired/repaired, nothing. Appears to be fixed with v1.32.0 of the Android app.
For me the problem does appear resolved now with v1.32.0 of the Android app
