Description Steve Vialle 2023-11-25 18:47:10 UTC
SUMMARY
Main application is missing:
"Monitor Remote Machine" and related ssh / ksysguardd functionality.
A usable not-mobile-centric UI, with traditional menubar and no hamburgers.

Sensor selection is missing:
"Log files" section (and the ability to add a log file view to a page in general)
A sensible tree-based sensor browser, as opposed to whatever this *thing* is

Process table view is missing:
  "Set Priority"
  "Jump to Parent Process"
  "Show Application Window"
"Detailed Information" ("Memory Map", "Open Files")
Regex support in the search bar

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Wait a couple of years for plasma-systemmonitor to mature.
2. Try to accept it as a replacement for ksysguard.

OBSERVED RESULT
Find it's missing a bunch of very useful features, and the UI still looks and behaves like Windows 8.

EXPECTED RESULT
New application has feature-parity with that which it is intended to replace, UI is not out of place on a traditional mouse + keyboard desktop.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Gentoo Linux 2.14
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.9
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.112.0
Qt Version: 5.15.11

Could you file separate bug reports for the individual feature requests?
Comment 2 Steve Vialle 2023-11-25 19:49:45 UTC
Sure. Done.
Regex search is already covered by #469305
