SUMMARY
When using the magnify function of Desktop Effects, only the wallpaper is shown in the zoom box and edges of applications. The box is also very dark.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable the Magnifier option in Desktop Effects
2. Zoom using Meta++
3. Move over apps, the wallpaper, etc.

OBSERVED RESULT
1. No app contents
2. Extremely dark box that only shows wallpaper content


EXPECTED RESULT
1. No darkening
2. App contents visible

That sounds strange. Cannot reproduce, and I use this effect every day so I always notice regressions. Can you by any chance capture it in the screen recording or even a shakycam phone video?

I can't reproduce it on my laptop. It was likely on my desktop. I'll check at some point again in the near future when I have 6 on my desktop again.
