Hi, I see you use Ubuntu. Have you installed Krita as a Snap package ?
Note: I can't reproduce with 5.2.1 or 5.2.0 appimage version on https://krita.org/en/download/krita-desktop/ Can you test with it? (you can find a how-to use appimage here: https://www.davidrevoy.com/article322/krita-appimage-for-cats )

Thank you for testing and the feedback. It looks very opaque to know who is in charge of the Snap of Krita. From https://snapcraft.io/install/krita/ubuntu , the 'contact' is Krita.org, so I guess the Krita devs maintain it? I'll ask them on the IRC dev channel. I wish I could find an email of the person who made the Snap so I could report the issue and ask them to allow the package to get enough permission to save resources like gradients. I'll investigate.
Looking into the snap.
I am not getting the same error. I get a popup that asks me if I would like to overwrite. Can you please give me some more details such as a screenshot of error. Version of the snap. Open Krita via the terminal /snap/bin/krita and repeat the process and then paste the terminal output here. Thanks, Scarlett
