SUMMARY
There is no option to disable the automatic opening of maliit and replace it with a simple icon in the tray bar that opens maliit when pressed and closed it again when pressed again.
the user knows when the keyboard is needed so giving that opportunity will avoid unwanted opening of the keyboard
