SUMMARY
***
I was trying out color profiles on Krita to try to use gamma 1.0
I have noticed elle ending in g10 and rgb linear have very visible bending. This isn't happening while using gamma 1.0 on photoshop so I thought it could be a bug.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a file with 1.0 color space
2. make the background #001626
3. make a new normal layer
4 paint with a soft brush #a94d92

OBSERVED RESULT
The soft brush will have bending

EXPECTED RESULT
No bending or less bending

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows 10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The image in photoshop is the same I started in krita, the light pink on the top is saved from krita and displays more bending than the new brushstroke below it. I have also done this on completely new files and it seems I get more bending in Krita.

Hi,

Banding is normal for linear 8bit, which is why gamma corrected spaces exist in the first place. Why you aren't seeing it in photoshop is probably because photoshop has some kind of dithering for it's brushes. In Krita such dithering is only enabled for the color smudge brush engine and gradient tool. Regardless, if you want to work in linear color, you should use a higher bitdepth, as not only brushes but also filters, transforms and blending modes are affected.
