STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Copy text from terminal
2. open kdiff3 and click cancel on the file selection modal dialog
3. in the left pane (or right for that matter) paste the contents from the clipboard

OBSERVED RESULT
a window flashes for a brief second

EXPECTED RESULT
the contents of the clipboard should be available in the left pane (or right one where pasted)
