This is a very convoluted bug and it is not clear to me which specific software is responsible. The video glitching is severe but there is an easy workaround. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Dock Konsole to the left side of the screen 2. Launch a YouTube video in mpv `mpv https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xo6WCp6k2-8` 3. Type f in mpv to go fullscreen 4. Type f again to return to window mode (glitching begins) 5. Undock konsole from left side of screen (glitching resolves) 6. Type f again in mpv to go fullscreen 7. Type f again to go windowed (glitch resumes) 8. Dock konsole to the left again (glitch resolves) Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.9 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.111.0 Qt Version: 5.15.11 Kernel Version: 6.5.9-arch2-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-6500 CPU @ 3.20GHz Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB/PCIe/SSE2 Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
Adding the x11-only keyword
Retesting this much later, the glitch is gone. I assume it was related to nvidia drivers that have gone through several rounds of updates. We can close this.
