Created attachment 162902 [details] ss ISO from 5th of November, see screenshot attached.
I am working on it.
Apologies, I am not working on this. I thought it was something else.
boots and installs for me in virt-manager (libvirt). maybe a qemu bug??
Other ISOs boot fine. Unstable is the odd one out.
Trying to boot unstable ISO in VirtualBox 6.1.38_Ubuntu r153438: I get the Neon log with spinning cogwheel, then the error messages "drm:vmw_host_printf [vmwgfx]] ERROR Failed to send host log message." and "[FAILED] Failed to start Migrate UID 1000 from semi-wrong groups to correct ones.." After that, I'm stuck on a black screen, can't even switch to another VT. I can get Neon to boot up if I enable 3d Acceleration in the VM settings of VirtualBox (I've also set Graphics memory to 48MB, not sure if this is related. *Only* increasing Graphics memory to 48MB is not enough to make it boot). I thought it might have to do with Plasma switching to wayland by default?
Same behavior with QEMU using the ISO image: neon-unstable-20231109-1616.iso
(In reply to Lassi Väätämöinen from comment #6) > Same behavior with QEMU using the ISO image: neon-unstable-20231109-1616.iso In the serial console, the last thing at the boot messages is Starting Hold until boot process finishes up... Starting Terminate Plymouth Boot Screen... [FAILED] Failed to start Migrate UI…wrong groups to correct ones.. Not sure if this is related.
This is fixed since.
Can't confirm, "neon-unstable-20231126-1118.iso" still will not boot if 3D acceleration is disabled in VirtualBox.
I am trying neon-unstable-20231203-1120.iso on VirtualBox 7.0.12 (Arch Linux host). With any combination of display driver / 3D acceleration, it only boots to the console with a login prompt. The same happens on QEMU.
fixed in the latest iso. please retry. 3d acceleration needs to be activated in virtualbox.
