Print preview doesn't work because opensuse decided to break it, complain to them. Print preview doesn't really have anything with printing though, does printing work or not?

Can you be a bit more precise on what "doesn't print pdf data" mean? You get an error? which error? Also can run which lpr in a terminal and tell me the output?
OK. After I open a file with extension .pdf with okular, I hit the print button. Nothing happens. No error message! In a terminal I use lpstat to view the printer status. It contains the print job without executing it. After opening a .jpg file with okular I can print it! Again using lpr ...pdf in a terminal I can print the same pdf which from okular won't print. This behaviour of okular is new, after I upgraded from leap 15.2 to leap 15.5 directly using a memory stick with the 15.5 version Thanks for your efforts! > Is this the problem?? No. Anyway please ask the opensuse developers which package you need to install to fix the ghostscript regression on their side, this may also fix printing, or at least you'll have a bug less.

After a few software updates I can again print files from okular.
