SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Kate on a large screen. 2. Reduce Kate width to about 600 - 700 pixel and place it on the right side. 3. Open a session list with a lot of files. 4. Click "Quick Opener" (Schnellöffner in German). OBSERVED RESULT Quick opener is just 300 or so pixel wide, while some files names are much longer while the visible part is the same. EXPECTED RESULT The visibility of the filename should be as large as possible within the opened Kate window. Height could/should also be maximized. If you have 25 files you see only 15 or so. Betriebssystem: openSUSE Leap 15.5 KDE-Plasma-Version: 5.27.4 KDE-Frameworks-Version: 5.103.0 Qt-Version: 5.15.8 Kernel-Version: 5.14.21-150500.55.31-default (64-bit)
We did chose that size by design to make it easier to focus on the content and to have never jump that view around based on the content. I don't think we will put work into making that configurable. If that is wanted, that needs to be contributed as some patch. https://kate-editor.org/join-us/
