SUMMARY
Working with split channels following the following tutorials doesn't work because the merge options : https://docs.krita.org/en/reference_manual/dockers/channels_docker.html

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Image -> Separate Image (selected options: Curren layer - Create separate separation from alpha channel))
2. Quick Group layers Blue, green, red, alpha channels
3. Clicking on Layer blending options (as in the tutorial copy blue, copy green, copy red) doesn't work blending mode remains Normal, and the copy red, blue green options are all selected.

Works for me, and I notice that you have ticked the checkboxes next to the blend modes -- is it possible you did *only* that? You need to click on the name of the blend mode while the corresponding layer is selected to actually apply it - the checkboxes serve only to add it to your "favourite" blend modes!

Thank you I was clicking on the checkboxes thinking about the option was selected instead with this behaviour. My bad :)
