Seems to happen to others, too: https://discuss.kde.org/t/kdenlive-23-08-2-released/6114/14?u=berndmj https://discuss.kde.org/t/kdenlive-23-08-2-released/6114/16?u=berndmj
HI everyone, I confirm my entry (here: https://discuss.kde.org/t/kdenlive-23-08-2-released/6114/16?u=berndmj) I sport Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye) with kernel Linux 5.10.0-26-amd64 (x86_64), with AMD Ryzen 9 3900X on ASUSTeK PRIME X570-PRO. And kdenlive-...x86_x64.AppImages since 22.04.
Hello everyone, Same problem with newer AppImages : kdenlive-23.08.3-x86_64.AppImage and kdenlive-23.08.3-x86_64-A.AppImage both show these missing versions of libstdc++.so.6 on a Debian stable. Best regards, Pierre
We added a compatibility layer in the latest 23.08.4 Appimage, so that is starts on older distributions. Please test this new version that was published yesterday: https://kdenlive.org/en/download/
Testing the newest AppImage: kdenlive-23.08.4-x86_64-A.AppImage on Ubuntu MATE 20.04.6 Application fails to launch from GUI. When launched via terminal, application fails to launch and returns: The X11 connection broke: No error (code 0) XIO: fatal IO error 39 (Directory not empty) on X server ":0" after 353 requests (353 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
Hello Jean-Baptiste and all, Good news from me : the new kdenlive-23.08.4-x86_64-A.AppImage works perfectly on my Debian Bookworm. No message/alert when launched from GUI. And launched from terminal, I only have info messages: some missing avfilter plugins, some missing services, some "shared memfd open() failed", but nothing related to missing libraries. For me now, this is "the release". I wonder why it does not work on Ubuntu Mate for capedmadman1941. I can see nothing like that. I wish this is not related to this AppImage. Many thanks for all your awesome work on Kdenlive, Pierre

Hi everyone, As I said, kdenlive-23.08.4-x86_64-A.AppImage solved the issue that was specified by capedmadman1941 in his first ticket (many missing .so). I cannot reproduce his next issue with X server on Mate. Best wishes and happy new year ! Pierre
My apologies for not setting the Status as Reported when I tested kdenlive-23.08.4-x86_64-A.AppImage and it failed to launch for what appears to be a different reason. I have stopped using the AppImage version of the program and am now using the flatpak in order to work in the newest release. Thank you for your time and attention!
