SUMMARY *** Using the "Select a Color" dialogue box or using a shortcut to invoke the screen color picker (to sample colors from outside the canvas) picks wrong colors or coordinates if used on a screen with the UI scaling set to something other than 100% in Windows settings. Currently I use a 4k drawing tablet, but it's somewhat small so I have to set the UI scale to 200% in Windows screen settings, but that breaks the color picker tool when I try to use it outside the canvas. Here's a link to a video showing it happening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXzOdq1d4oI&ab_channel=MatheusDias *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Setting UI scale (not resolution) to something other than 100% on Windows screen settings 2. invoking the "Select a Color" dialogue box and click on the color sampler 3. Try to pick a color outside the canvas area OBSERVED RESULT Color sampled is completely off and sometimes transparent EXPECTED RESULT The color gets sampled from the place where the user has clicked SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 10 Krita: 5.2 (I observed this issue in many other past versions as well) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -
I can confirm this also happens to me where i can't sample colors outside of the canvas when using the Sample Screen Color feature. clicking on the shortcut and hovering outside the canvas, sampler is just changing between random colors and not the colors under the pointer. Once i click with the pointer nothing happens, it does not pick a color, the sample feature just remains active and changing between random colors. only way to stop it is by pressing ESCAPE key. M1 Macos Sequoia 15.6 Krita 5.2.11 I am on 100% UI scaling and it still does not work for me. This use to work for me about 2 years ago. Once i set up multiple monitors the issue began and so i stopped using the feature. I am currently back to using 1 monitor and i can't get it work.
