The kdenlive kcrash file

SUMMARY
***
NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols.
See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports
***

When opening kdenlive, it launches beyond the splash screen and tries to load my previous project. I see it processing my project bin and they seem to resolve just fine, my folders are there as I set them up in my project. I don't see anything in the timeline however and after about 15s after launch, kdenlive crashes with a segfault. I have attaches the kcrash file which I tried to submit using the crash reporter (which sadly didn't work because of some other error, which it reported as: https://bugs.kde.org/rest/bug?token=255959-1l2AAswODR)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Ensure Kdenlive is configured to automatically reload your last project
2. Launch Kdenlive
3. It crashes while loading the project

OBSERVED RESULT
Segfault crash which causes the application to just close

EXPECTED RESULT
No segfault crash and the project loads successfully

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
This version information should be available in the attached kcrash file

This might be a bad packaging issue. Are you able to reproduce this using the latest appimage?

Hi Farid,

Thank you for your response. I cannot reproduce this issue with the latest appimage of Kdenlive. I just downloaded the 23.8.02 appimage of the Kdenlive website and it is working just fine.

Does this mean that this issue will be fixed whenever the package for Nobara (which is probably just Fedora) is updated or is this our of the control of the Kdenlive project?

Kind regards,
Yanik

I can't really tell but hope it does. Either way this is a packaging issue out of the scope of Kdenlive. I would report it to the nobara or fedora packagers.

Thanks
