Hi guys, just updated to most recent version of korganizer 5.24.2.

This bug is nasty and almost unforgivable as i use the pim suite as my daily driver. I am now reconsidering my workflow, unless this gets fixed immediately.

To make this bug happen i:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Deleted by current calendar.
2. Tried to add a google calendar. Went through authentication with google accounts.
3. After authentication was done i allowed the services to be used with pim.
4. Close browser window. Got the error not configured. i edited the agent_config_akonadi_google_resource in akonadi config folder with Name=jshand2013@gmail.com and i got as a result Cannot fetch password. to get thos errors, i did make sure i restarted the service

OBSERVED RESULT

Google Calendar added but not configured

EXPECTED RESULT

Google Calendar added and get on with business

interestingly enough with the latest version of kdepim 23.08.3, i have been able to add the calendar normaly. now, just adding it won't fix the problem (not that i've found), as i modified the calendar settings and restarted computer to find that the calendar is listed and working properly.

maybe it could have something to the add calendar function

Same behavior for me. Only if you create a new Google calendar. No error message. But if you look in the list of calendars, the message "Cannot fetch password" is displayed.
The error only occurred after I deleted the existing Google calendar and tried to integrate it again. The same applies to the contacts. These are also no longer displayed.

are you using the latest stable release?

When i went to add a calendar, it was listed with the errors you described. what i tried next was to reload/restart the calendar and error went away and calendar and contacts became active

I am using KDE Neon. I currently have kontact 5.24.3 (23.08.3) and KDE Frameworks 5.113.0 installed.
I have also tried your tip and restarted the calendar. Unfortunately without success. I had tried that before.
I tried the whole thing on a second system with the same result. As I said, the connection to Google was stable until I deleted the calendar and recreated it.

YOU ARE RIGHT.
I'll have to readjust it again now, but it worked. The following procedure:

1) Calendar resource exists with the message "Password..."
2) Then go to Edit and open the configuration dialog.
3) Set up and go through the process as usual.
4) Important: Do not press OK, but click on Apply.
5) Then it worked. The resource is available.
6) Close the configuration with OK.
