Description jackleberry 2023-10-02 19:24:09 UTC
SUMMARY
AFIACT, there is no option for either manual or automatic latency compensation in kdenlive.

This makes production very difficult when either source material is out of sync, or when using LADSPA plugins that introduce some latency.

Even an effect or option to add a negative time offset in milliseconds to an audio track would be a huge improvement.

But also taking the plugin chain's total latency into account automatically would be even better.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add LADSPA effect with latency (Artifical Latency is good for testing) to an audio track
2. Copy the source material to a second audio track with no plugins
3. Playback or render.

OBSERVED RESULT

Audio is offset in the track with the latency-introducing effects

EXPECTED RESULT

Audio is not offset, latency is compensated for automatically.
