example of window sticking to floating panel

I like the floating panels as they give the desktop a lighter look.

When maximizing windows or using a windows tiling script to position windows e. g. top left the panel either "unfloats" or the positioned window directly sticks to the panel.

With an config option

[] always float
[] float on demand (current behaviour)
[] never float

and a reserved margin on every side - not only towards screen edges - it would look more consistend IMHO

Unfortunately asking for this is futile. Nick will not listen or change it. It has been asked for since floating panels were first talked about and Nick refuses to see that people want a true floating panel. Just use latte dock. It has that feature and does it very well.
