Description Nathan U. 2023-09-28 17:54:46 UTC
SUMMARY
Tried animating in RC1 version, but oftentimes the audio speed would be higher than usual

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Make an animation with fps lower than 24 (I tested around 12-16)
2. Import any audio
3. Click on any frame in the timeline (though it also happened when just clicking the Stop button) and begin playback

OBSERVED RESULT
The speed of the audio will be about 10% higher

EXPECTED RESULT
The audio plays at normal speed at all times, like in 5.1.5

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10 Pro
KDE Frameworks Version: 5, LGPLv2.1+
Qt Version: GPLv2 + GPLv3 + LGPLv2.1 + LGPLv3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pausing and then resuming playback after the bug is reproduced may bring the audio speed back to normal, momentarily

Hi there Nathan, thanks for the report.

I have managed to reproduce this playback speed bug based on your instructions.

Although I don't know yet what the cause might be, it seems that it might have something to do with pushing audio while scrubbing, since it seems like it happens pretty consistently when playing back after clicking a frame on my animation that's set to 12fps playback.

Sorry for the bug. I'll see if I can get to the bottom of it.

By the way, as a workaround I can only recommend animating at 24fps and adjusting your frame timing to compensate.

I know it's not ideal so I'm sorry about that, but it should allow you to get some animation done until this bug is resolved.

Hi, Nathan!

Could you please check if this bug is already fixed in 5.2.3 and Krita Plus? I think I have fixed it recently now :)

Hi Dmitry!

I checked and it seems to be working properly! Thanks
