SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. "Create New Puzzle" 2. "Open File Dialog" 3. OBSERVED RESULT File Manager opens at "HOME" folder, but nothing is in it. Or, program crashes. This started with the latest update. Also, the old program remembered the file type to look for, e.g. "jpg". Flatpak does not. EXPECTED RESULT I expected to see my folders and files, but there is nothing. Which palapeli version are you running?
Palapeli Version 2.1.23081 Update Manager indicates that my system is up to date.
Interesting, you're saying the app is crashing, can you please give us a crash backtrace? https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports
Created attachment 161816 [details] attachment-1439472-0.html Hello. I am fairly new to Linux, reporting bugs, and using gmail. As I said in my report, when I tried to create a new puzzle, a file manager window opened, but no folders or files showed. I tried several times. A few of those times, the program crashed. This morning, the program behaved like it before: i.e. the file manager opened, but no folders or files showed. As a work around, I installed the "system package". I had installed the "Flatpak." The "system package" program works the way it should. I would have imagined that you would have been able to duplicate the problem on your own machine. I tried to read how to give you a "crash backtrace", but found that it was not easy to understand. So. For the time being, I will be content using the Palapeli system package instead of the Flatpak. In any case, it is not clear to me what the advantages of the Flatpak are. It takes up more space and it takes longer to load the program. I can't imagine that I am the only person experiencing this problem. In any case, thank you for your attention. Sorry to have bothered you. This is a sad combination of a bug created by using flatpak, we're working on it.
(In reply to Albert Astals Cid from comment #5) > This is a sad combination of a bug created by using flatpak, we're working > on it. I have a question. Does that mean, when fixed Palapeli will work on al Distros again?

Yes, I am using the Version 2.1.23081 via dl.flathub.org I was going to add a screenshot of my App Centre, but don't know how to put it in this comment. :D
pinkpanthress, Can you run flatpak update and confirm that the bug is fixed after that?

I have someone with a disability here at home and she loves³ to play this, so you really saved her from death by boredom!
