Run System settings OBSERVED RESULT The panel defloats and expands EXPECTED RESULT The panel stays floating SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.8

That's weird! Cannot reproduce in Plasma 6, though.

What is your screen arrangement? Is there another screen above that one?

Sorry for the delay.
When I disable my upper monitor the panel floats but now I can drag windows against it and below it and it won't defloat.
Can both of you please report whether your panel that is exhibiting this behavior is on a screen edge that has another screen on the other side of it?

In my case, I can confirm that the panel is on a screen edge that has another screen on the other side of it.
In that case you're experiencing Bug 351175. volodarolathana@tutanota.com, is your panel also on the edge between two screens?
