SUMMARY
***
Whenever I click on a hyperlink in Okular, the program opens the link itself by producing and opening a new document with all the html code from the linked site, rather than sending the link to the system default web browser. This is new behaviour following an upgrade of operating system. It appears that the system defaults are set correctly, and I cannot see an option to change this is Okular.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Click on any hyperlink in a pdf open in Okular.

OBSERVED RESULT
Link opened by Okular in new document.

EXPECTED RESULT
Link opened in system default web browser.

Can you attach an example file?
Comment 2 nickwiltsher 2023-09-12 09:07:55 UTC
I can't, because it ... somehow fixed itself? It's been doing this for a couple of months, with all hyperlinks, so it wasn't a temporary aberration. The only thing I can think of that I did between encountering the problem yet again yesterday and reporting the bug was to double-check that there was actually a web browser selected under default applications and to re-apply the selection—maybe double-checking fixed that? Anyway. Thanks and sorry to waste time.
