SUMMARY In the same way you can add / sync "image ratings" and "image tags", please add the additional config GUI to "Group" images based on a meta tag. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Configure Digicam 2. Medatada 3. Advanced 4. ** Add Image Groups ** 5. Like the other options add ability to select the metadata to group on, example Xmp.Group.ID If the image has Meta tag as specified, then the images with this same tag value, would all be grouped. Grouping images would also create a Random ID (date/time stamp?) to then assign to the tag. The result would be both images are "grouped" together. OBSERVED RESULT Currently there is no option to assign "Group" information to the images EXPECTED RESULT When importing a new image with a configured meta tag, the image would automatically be grouped with like tag. Example. While importing files with the same Tag, the images will be grouped, if the image group is changed then the Meta tag will be updated.: Image1 Xmp.Group.ID = 1 Image2 Xmp.Group.ID = 1 SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS All ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
We can only group images whose metadata information is also stored in the database. The Xmp.Group.ID tag is currently not included. Which programs use Xmp.Group.ID? Maik
We need more information here and ExifTool does not know an Xmp.Group.ID tag (https://exiftool.org/TagNames/XMP.html). Maik
Created attachment 161579 [details] attachment-253500-0.html Hello, Please clarify the information requested? The tag names should be selectible arbitrary like 'rating' and 'tags' already used. The xmp Xmp.Group would simply one provided as example that I would use. Please see the reproduction steps to better understand the section of digikam configuration this relates to for understanding. Correct, there doesn't seem to be an already existing xmp tag for groups. Xmp.Xmp.Group Xmp.Group.Id Would be suggested. I'm using application exiv2 to assign tags.
