Description radek9616 2023-09-03 10:51:01 UTC
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Switch from audio output A to B
2. Modify volume with keyboard multimedia key or headset volume wheel

OBSERVED RESULT
Audio device A volume gets modified

EXPECTED RESULT
Audio device B volume to be modified.
In other words, the current audio output device volume change and not the previous

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: OpenSuse Tumbleweed kernel 6.4.11-1-default
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.7
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.109.0
Qt Version: 5.15.10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Way to fix: Open volume menu in bottom tray/taskbar and change volume of current device with the volume slider.
From this point on the multimedia keys change the current device audio output volume.
But if I change the output device again, I have to do the fix again.

Can you outline exactly the method you're using to switch the audio output?

In the Audio Volume system tray when I change from speakers to headset, it will often still change volume on the speakers and not headset through the volume wheel on my keyboard and headset. I have to select the volume slider of device I switched to, in this case headset, for the volume wheel change headset volume.

Speakers are connected to monitor which is connected by display port and headset is connected by usb wireless receiver (logitech g535)

I am not completely sure if I logged the bug report under the correct product, its my first bug report for kde

Thanks.

Does it still happen in Plasma 6.3.4 or newer, and also with presumably a newer version of the audio software stack? I ask because I haven't been able to reproduce this issue.
