Description luvis8 2023-09-02 20:03:29 UTC
Kuickshow image viewer in Manjaro Linux KDE

The menu lists F2 as the keyboard shortcut for starting the slideshow, however, when I do that I get the following error message:

The key sequence ‘F2’ is ambiguous. Use ‘Configure Keyboard Shortcuts’

from the ‘Settings’ menu to solve the ambiguity.

    No action will be triggered.

When I go into the settings, I can program any key to automatically start the slideshow and it works fine, until I close the program and restart it, then it completely forgets the programmed keyboard shortcut, but it still remembers the other settings that I have made (with respect to image display).

This is my first bug report, so apologies if I have made a mistake in how I have reported it, please forgive me.

I have since discovered that Kuickshow has listed F2 as the keyboard shortcut for two different functions!

I'm afraid Kuickshow is no longer maintained, which is why you weren't able to find a Bugzilla product for it!

Hi Nate,
I discovered that F2 is set as the keyboard shortcut for two different actions.

Since this program is no longer being maintained, how do I go fixing this problem?
I would be content to be able to set "Slideshow" to the Spacebar shortcut.

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb request, I am fairly new to this.

Take care,
Eric

There should be a menu item somewhere in the app to let you customize shortcuts, and you can click it and use the window that it opens to assign the shortcuts to anything you want.

If that doesn't work, or if the functionality I describe does not exist in the app, then the practical options for fixing the bug are limited to downgrading to a previous version of the software or KDE frameworks where the bug was not seen, or fixing the problem yourself in the source code.

I'm afraid I can't offer any more help than that, as I'm not familiar with KDE's older unmaintained apps.

Good luck!

Hi Nate,
Yes I first reported that changing the keyboard shortcuts in Kuickshow were not being remembered by the program upon restarting it.

So where can I find the source code for Kuickshow?

Eric
