It shows the number of unread messages in my "inbox.) 3. OBSERVED RESULT: It shows the number of new, unread messages in my "inbox." But the actual messages do not show up until much later EXPECTED RESULT: The number of unread messages in the "inbox" and the actual number of unread messages in the inbox are not the same. It's very slow to download messages. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Mageia 9 / 5.27.5 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.105.0 Qt Version: 5.15.7 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION As a backup, I use Mozilla Thunderbird. It downloads all messages immediately
Ok, I started kmail right after my computer booted. It showed no e-mails. So I tried Control-Alt-Backspace to reset the Desktop. I tried Kmail again. 28 messages showed up instantly.
And now, today (September 25, 2023) Kmail did not download any mail right away when I clicked on "check mail." About one minute later, it downloaded ALL of the messages from my ISP e-mail server....more than 1000 messages.... (I set Kmail NOT to delete e-mails from the server)
