Created attachment 161190 [details] KDE black boxes wont go away SUMMARY *** This normally happens with firefox being open. If I need to right click for a context menu or god forbid I open up the "Plasma Menu" from time to time I will get a blacked out window option. I attached a screenshot. It seems like ever since I upgraded a year ago thru the latest KDE Plasma versions it has been getting worse and worse - it sucks honestly and I doubt the dev's here will do anything about it. You never fix anything I have a gtx 960 card if that helps, i run xorg, and the latest driver 535.104.05 for nvidia - but I can almost guarantee this post will be met with "Just you brah" The only fix I can find is closing firefox out completely and then reopening it - its on borrowed time though, and second ... I HAVE TABS OPEN I WANT TO LOOK AT!!! *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open up firefox let it be 2. Start doing normal stuff 3. Get a black screen when trying to use context menus or use "normal" programs OBSERVED RESULT I got blacked out screens in Xorg NOT WAYLAND EXPECTED RESULT To not have black boxes SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.27.7 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.7 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.109.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Again I use KDE, I use the latest nvidia drivers, I dont use wayland, I use xorg.....if I open firefox for long enough eventually it effects the entire desktop gui globally by it giving me black boxes for context menus or the plasma menu itself. The only fix is to exit firefox all together. KDE sucks, just opening the dialog box to import what I am talking about took me 3 tries for it to let me select.
> god forbid > it sucks honestly and I doubt the dev's here will do anything about it. You never fix anything > I can almost guarantee this post will be met with "Just you brah" > KDE sucks Bad attitude means I don't want to provide you with free support. If you hate our software so much, feel free to use someone else's.
Fair enough I was frustrated at the time of writing this so I apologize I "think" i found a fix for it with firefox disabling EGL and enabling GFX anyway I apologize for my lack of respect.
Thank you for the apology, I accept it and appreciate the gesture. I'm glad yo managed to find a fix.
Thanks, I am trying my best to work on my anger... It's not easy but I'm trying my best.
That's very big of you. It's not an easy thing to acknowledge your faults and try to get better. Best of luck!
